Slovenly
Peter
A new and quite uncouth
misinterpretation of the classic moralizing picture-book, titled
"Struwwelpeter" in the 1854 German original, and known as "Den
Store Bastian" (The Great Bastian) in Danish. A larger-than
life, visually exciting, wordless yet rather loud
experience for both good and bad children
and adults.
In Slovenly
Peter, we experience children, when they are at
their best: obedient, clean - and completely without scruples. The
idea of the well-raised child is turned on its head, and the
goody-goods' innocent play with the adults' rulesbecomes absurd,
comic, and even (a
little)
frightening. Fire is played with and scissors run with, in a
enlarged, charged world with equal amounts of good laughs and eye-popping
chills.
